Personal

New Orleans this week

I'll be attending the Enterprise Architectures Conference in New Orleans this week. As this is my first EA conference I hope to learn much. The hotel I'll be staying at supposedly has wireless Internet access, not sure about the conference. I'll be in Jabber as I can, and hopefully update my workblog as well as my personal blog with the experience.

My plane leaves in the morning at 8:15am, being that you have to get to the airport early, I should probably be in bed right now. But spent some time at a friends house, and I had to finish up packing. As usual I tried to pack too much gear. Its amazing how many chargers and electronic stuff we geeks need along with us... an APC power strip is always the first thing that goes in my suitcase.

This will be my first time in Louisiana, so it should be fun. It will also be the first time traveling alone (I don't even go out to lunch by myself). I look forward to meeting up with a friend on Monday night, a very wonderful couple from church who moved to New Orleans fairly recently. She is a native of New Orleans, so I am sure she can lead me to the great food and of course some jazz.

Between my national coverage mobile phone, and (crossing fingers) Hotel Internet access, I hope to stay connected, as well as make some new friends from the IT industry at the conference. We'll see how it goes, at least I'll be able to get some reading done on the plane hrmm... (checking clock) or maybe just sleep.

LA Marathon Results

I am proud of my friends and family who ran this year's LA Marathon.

The results have been updated to reflect the CHIPtime which is the official race time from the start line to finish. Previously estimates did not account for the additional time it took to get to the starting line. There isn't a starting line wide enough to have 22,000 people start at the same place :) I also added categories for Overall Placement, Male Female Placement, and Division Placement.

LA Marathon Tracking

I have quite a few friends and a family member running the LA Marathon this year.

Since you can track their progress on the LA Marathon Website via several means, including being messaged at splits, I thought I would post the Bib Numbers here.

Grr. The Flu

Well, starting last week Monday I started to get a sore throat, by the end of the week a bad cold followed. Over the weekend it turned into a chest cold, and when I left church on sunday I knew it was even worse. That night I had a 102.6 fever and thus began the flu.

So monday was sleeping till it hurt. And last night my fever broke a little earlier than the night before, with the coaxing of ibuprofin. I'm hoping the fever won't return today, and that I can go back to work tomorrow. The chest cold, who knows how long that will last.

As it is I have had to miss several meetings, and
